When we lost Lily's puppies our breeding program had come to an abrupt halt, leading me to start looking for another girl. I had a great fondness for a male living in New Mexico owned by Dave and Mary Carlson... Ch. Moonfire's Yukon Jack. Mary had puppies coming from Yukie and Sundance in Aug 03. This litter had a pedigree that would blend very well with what I had in Dallas. So in Oct. of 2003 I went to the airport and picked up this bold brassy puppy that yapped her way across the tarmac and came out of the airline crate looking at me with that "I am here and YOU will love me" attitude.....and we do!
Fyre is the definition of a happy dog…she’s happy no matter what she’s doing. She's happiest if she can be outside chasing squirrels, hunting bugs and diving for moles. She's the fearless leader of the squirrel and mole patrol. A big talker with wonderful temperament, though she does march to her own drum beat. She loves to give kisses, if you get close enough to her face she’ll present you with one of her sloppy full face kisses….for which she’s known for.
She’s a natural in the sheep pen, with her strong herding instinct she earned her HIC/HCT-s at the tender young age of 9 months old. Living in Florida makes training for the herding ring difficult with the hot weather, but with very little practice Fyre earned both legs of her JHD in Nov. 2006. We hope to be able to train more in 2009 so she can start her Trial classes.
