Padako Samoyeds

For the most part the Samoyed is a healthy hardy breed, but with a gene pool of only 12-20 foundation dogs health issues are a concern.

The Samoyed Club of America Education & Research Foundation (SCARF) is the health foundation encouraging research into diseases in the Samoyed. SCARF offers grant money to veterinary scientists that are doing studies into the diseases that in the future may help breeders breed healthier Samoyeds.

The SCARF website is full of information on issues that are found in the Samoyed, it's a wonderful source of information
